Canyons & Matacanes (no gear)

The canyoning tour of  Matacanes starts in the town of Potrero Redondo. It lasts around 10 hours and you'll find two rappel descents (27 and 15 meters), two underground rivers that we will cross, 25 cliff jumps into the water (from 1 to 12 meters), slides, and many more hurdles . Hike starts on a path down to the waterfall Lagunillas, a 27 meters rappel we will descend to have the first contact with the water. From this point on you'll be wet until the finish point in Las Adjuntas (course of rappel included). This package includes cabin with hot water, bed, bathroom and dinner the night before in our village. At the morning we'll have breakfast, right on the starting point of the tour!

Season

Can be made all year, but have more visitor influence from February 1st to November 15th, highly recommendable on the months from September to November, having higher water level.

Difficulty

Intermediate: this route is apt for people with little experience in hiking, the route involves walking in paths, between stones and can have down climbing. Although this can be your first adventure trip is necessary that you have the ability to move mountain terrain. All our routes includes rappel course. GOOD phisycal condition is required and no one with overweight will be admitted.

  • BackPack to carry your gear, food and drinks
  • Biking gloves to protect your hands
  • Sun Block, to protect the canyons please dont use it

    • Groups

    Groups can be made of 4 people minimum. In case of not being able to form a group, you'll have to pay for 4. Cabins are for 7 people, they are not pritave and have bathroom and hot shower.

    Food

    Includes all meals for your trip. 

    On Full day tours we'll provide breakfast, midday snack and dinner, and on half day tour we'll provide a complete lunch

    Alcohol and beer are not included but are available at our resort Bar open until midnight.

    Take the highway to Linares (carretera Nacional), passing El Cercado in Santiago Nuevo Leon, take Cola de Caballo road, go about 5 km south to reach the Hotel.
